Zissel (and trauma eaters as a whole, I imagine) are interesting conceptually. Zissel feels some kind of drive to consume, but never feels actually satisfied with it? Every time they eat, they just feel weird and self-isolating; there's something metaphorical there with people who feel the need to be useful to others above all (Zissel lays it out themself in the end, even). It feels like that instinct has been ingrained so deep that Zissel can't turn it off even when they want to, that (again, metaphorically meaty) this has become the only way they really know how to interact with people. I wonder what would have happened if the Mayor had really had her way with them. Probably nothing good, but maybe Zissel is just terrified of having their own trauma brought out into the open. At least Zissel has a cool radio partner now.

Excellent insight! Like you said, Zissel clutches to taking self-satisfaction from being a trauma eater as a salve from feeling alienated, but just feels more alienated after doing so. But, the addition of Kypp to Zissel’s life offers a new perspective on that issue of satisfaction, given that Kypp’s inexplicably into the trauma eating. We’re glad you think Kypp’s cool too :)

We had hoped, in our original edit for the story, to include Zissel’s trauma in the final act, but alas we fell short on time. It’s our hope to include Zissel, Kypp, and other characters in future games or stories, so maybe there’s yet a chance to explore that.
